Kit Details

Manufacturer

Surridge became the club's kit manufacturer for the first time signing a multi-year deal.

Main Sponsors

One Call Insurance, owned by Chairman John Redford, became the club's main shirt sponsor for all shirts.

Secondary Sponsors

Local radio station Mansfield 103.2 continued to sponsor the rear of the home shirt. The logo used on the shirt was a simplified version of the main logo.

Local takeaway the Mint became the sponsor on the rear of the away shirt.

Home Kit & Variations

The first home shirt of the Surridge era was a rather simple but effective one. Small areas of blue on the sleeves and collar are the only details of note.

It saw One Call Insurance as the main shirt sponsor for the first time and SkyBet league patches worn for the first time following promotion from the National League.

The main home kit with blue shorts and yellow socks was worn for every home game with the variations with yellow shorts worn in certain away games.

Away Kit & Variations

The blue away shirt was the mirror of the home shirt albeit with a different rear of shirt sponsor.

The version with yellow shorts and blue socks was the advertised away kit but was actually only twice, once away at Tranmere in the first round of the League Cup and then away at St Albans City in the first round of the FA Cup. Following this it was never seen again with the full blue kit seemingly the variation of choice with two appearances for the version with yellow shorts and socks.

Goalkeeper Kit & Variations

The black goalkeeper kit was the kit chosen for the majority of the first half of the season but then was worn only a handful of times after Christmas seeing it's last outing in February.

The variation with the orange shorts and socks was seen once away at Burton Albion.

It was the only goalkeeper shirt with a rear sponsor and followed a different, more modern, template to the other two goalkeeper shirts.

This goalkeeper shirt, with slight sponsor tweaks, would go on and be used in the following two seasons.

Goalkeeper Kit & Variations

This bright orange goalkeeper kit was worn sporadically during the first half of the season but then became the main used shirt in the second half of the season with only two matches between February and May not using this kit.

The full orange kit was used exclusively when this shirt was worn until March when the black shorts and orange socks were then used in every game until the black socks appeared with the black shorts for the remaining 5 matches this kit was worn.

This was the only shirt this season to see the blue shirt numbering and lettering. I'm unsure why as the white would have looked better and even appeared on the orange shorts.

Goalkeeper Kit - Alternative

This purple coloured goalkeeper shirt was only worn three times, away at Newport and then home games against Plymouth and Torquay.

Despite Alan Marriott playing 40 of the 46 matches in goal this season, this particular purple shirt was worn by three different goalkeepers in the three games it was worn. They were; Alan Marriott (Newport), Liam Mitchell (Plymouth) and Lewis Price (Torquay). Also interestingly both Mitchell and Price wore 33 in this shirt.

This shirt was the same template as the Orange goalkeeper shirt also worn this season.

Opponent's Shirt - Bristol Rovers

On the final day of the season something rather remarkable unfolded in Bristol. The Stags kitman forgot to pack the home kit and the blue away kit was unsuitable due to an obvious clash with Bristol Rover's home kit. Mansfield asked Bristol Rovers for a change shirt and they provided the previous seasons away shirt which was being worn by the clubs youth team (hence the lack of names on the back). It was worn with Mansfield's amber shorts and socks.

Mansfield would go on to win the game courtesy of a Colin Daniel goal (whose kit is shown here) which relegated Bristol Rovers to non-league for the first time in their history.
